Fitness First
In 2007 Carlile Swimming commenced an exciting partnership with Fitness First opening a swim school alongside their gym at the Carlingford Court Shopping Centre. A number of adjustments were made to the existing pool to bring the facility in line with the standards of our other pools. The work included adjustments to pool depths and configuration, installation of a new air handling system, creating a separate reception and entrance and also building on-deck showers, family change facilities and increasing the seating capacity. Carlile Swimming Carlingford opened on 11th February 2008.
The opening of Carlile Swimming Carlingford increases our presence in the Hills District and compliments our other locations of Norwest and Cherrybrook in this area.
Carlile Swimming Five Dock, our second swim school with Fitness First, opened on 3rd August 2009. This brand new building sees Carlile Swimming return to Sydney's Inner West in a state of the art purpose built facility for learning to swim.
Carlile Swimming are currently reviewing further developments with Fitness First.
Rainbow Club Australia
Thank you to the parents and children of Carlile Swimming who helped us raise a fantastic $3,000 for the Rainbow Club Australia by participating in our recent ‘Orange Bag’ promotion.
The Rainbow Club Australia was founded in 1969 by Mr Ron Siddons MBE to provide swimming tuition and raise funds for the special services and modified equipment needed by children with disabilities. In addition to providing services and special equipment, the Rainbow Club gives children with disabilities, and their families, opportunities to meet other families in similar circumstances – in doing so, creating a valuable network with immeasurable benefits.
Mr Siddons’ dream was that Rainbow Clubs would operate across Australia so that any child with a disability could benefit from its services. Today there are fifteen clubs around the country with twelve of them located in NSW at: Bondi, Cronulla, Campbelltown, Epping (Cherrybrook), Goulburn, Lindfield, Liverpool, Newington / Leichhardt, Revesby, Warringah,Sutherland and Orange.
The money raised from our ‘Orange Bag’ promotion will ensure these children receive the same opportunities to learn to swim that are currently enjoyed by their peers. Funds will be used to acquire valuable resources including specially trained one-on-one teachers, pool space and purpose-built equipment.
Carlile Swimming is proud to support the Rainbow Club’s initiatives and commitment to inspirational work.
