Advanced Squads

Participation in our Advanced Squads is by invitation and only after consultation with the child's coach. A high degree of commitment is expected at this level.

Our advanced squads include:

Bronze Squad

The Bronze Squad is our first competitive training group, and focuses race techniques, continued stroke refinements and extended conditioning, in preparation for the Silver Squad.

A minimum of three to four attendances per week is expected, including at least one morning session.

Membership of a Carlile affiliated swim club is also mandatory, as is attendance at swim meets.

Silver Squad

The aim of the Silver Squad is to develop all swimmers’ techniques and skills, training capacity, level of commitment and competitive performance so that they can achieve National Age Championship qualification and progress to the Gold Squad.

A minimum of six to seven sessions per week is required to participate in the Silver Squad, with consideration given to those increasing their workload whilst transitioning from Bronze.

Membership of a Carlile affiliated swim club is also mandatory, as is attendance at swim meets.

Gold Squad

The aim of the Gold Squad is to develop swimmers, who must be committed to being the best that they can be, to their full potential.

A minimum of nine to ten sessions per week is required to participate in the Gold Squad, with consideration given to those increasing their workload whilst transitioning from Silver.

Membership of a Carlile affiliated swim club is also mandatory, as is attendance at swim meets.

Development Squad

The Development Squad is a training group for high school aged swimmers who wish to stay involved in a fitness based aquatic exercise program, whilst continuing to develop their swimming skills in all areas.

There is more emphasis on participation and less on competitive swimming in this group.
