We are always looking for new, friendly and outgoing educators who love the water and are genuinely excited to help children and adults learn to swim. If that sounds like you – here’s everything you need to know about working with Carlile Swim.
No Training Needed
You don't have to be qualified to start! We can take you through the process of becoming a swimming teacher & offer you a job after. If you're interested, we can help!
Flexible Hours
We work for fair and reasonable balance in shift times so you have space for “life”: school, kids, study, family, other roles. You can work as little as four hours – or as many as 20-30 hours per week. You choose.
Fun Environment
Being a swim teacher is fun! You're teaching people a life saving skill & we create an enjoyable, fun learning environment for both our students & instructions. You'll enjoy coming to work with Carlile Swim.

Make Friends
You'll make new friends! Many of our instructors catch up outside of the pool & we've seen great friendships develop among our swimming instructors.
There are things you need to be a teacher but we help you get there. Infact learning with Carlile you will receive a qualification you can take anywhere in Australia and to many parts of the world. To be a swim teacher, we will support you to earn:
01. An Accredited Water Safety Qualification
Swim teacher courses can be completed with Carlile the most cost effective option or with various providers, including AUSTSWIM, AMPT, SCTA & Royal Life Saving
02. Working With Children Check (WWC/blue card)
A criminal check compulsory to work with children. Checks are valid for three years and can how they can acquired changes depending on your state but an online search will point you in the right direction.
03. CPR Certification
A current CPR Certification is required as part of your Water Safety Qualification, this course can be completed through any accredited provider.
Carlile’s training program is delivered by accredited providers and is mapped to the qualifications you need through AMPT and SCTA so you can do our training and then do your in water hours with us. If you attend another provider you will need to complete some hours at a swim school to get signed off. Once you have completed these hours, you’re good to go! If you want to become a swimming teacher but haven’t got the accreditations above. No worries. Please still reach out to us using the form below. We’ll help you through the process.
