World class teachers

Carlile relies on expert teachers who care about your children. Plus they are some of the most qualified swimming teachers in the world. Far from just meeting the minimum standard required by the industry, Carlile teachers have been through an award winning, industry leading program of teacher training and development that few swim schools in the world can match. Further Carlile teachers are constantly assessed by Supervisors who are looking to help make every lesson just a little bit better.

Family values

Carlile is Sydney’s oldest swim school, starting as a family business it remains that way today.  We care about every child that swims with us. We want all families to feel at home when they come to swimming lessons and for kids to feel safe and comfortable in the water. That’s why, at Carlile, we don’t just teach kids to swim, we help them grow in confidence, learn new skills, make friends and learn to love swimming. Perhaps thats also why so many of our teachers where once our students.

Warm, safe custom-built pools

Your children will enjoy warm 32-degree water, varying depths, lengths, ledges and platforms designed to help them be comfortable and grow in confidence. To protect everyone Carlile uses world’s best practice technology to treat air and water. This includes, an ultra-fine filtration (UFF) system, chlorine that kills harmful bacteria and an Ultra-violet (UV) disinfection system, as an added layer of protection. This is beyond what most pools use. There are also no known cases of COVID-19 being transmitted in well-maintained, chlorinated water.

Award winning program

Carlile’s proven teaching methods and award-winning swim programs are designed to deliver consistency and quality in every lesson, from Waterbabies through to Squads. At Carlile, children are never rushed, it takes time to learn and master a new skill and each level builds on the one before. Children are helped to develop at the right pace so they feel comfortable and proficient in the water. Carlile’s swimming programs have been refined and improved over sixty five years of constantly innovating and remaining at the cutting edge of world swimming.

No floaties

It’s easy for kids to develop a false sense of security when using floaties or back bubbles. Floaties and back bubbles can also make other movements difficult because the body and head is not sitting in the correct position. Carlile only use active aids, like kick boards and mats, to help kids learn to swim. Children must be comfortable in, under and on top of the water to learn to swim correctly. Carlie teachers will support and encourage your child to feel comfortable when submerging, with no stress.

Regular feedback

It can be hard to know why certain skills are learnt in a particular order. Carlile wants you to have as much information as you need. You should expect regular feedback regarding your child’s progress. This will be delivered both face to face, via email and through Carlile’s award winning assessment technology and Parent Portal. The Parent Portal also features videos of what your child will be working on at each level and what to expect at the next. You can also ask Carlile’s on-deck Supervisors anything that you would like to know about the program and your child’s progress.

Carlile is truly passionate about teaching kids to swim. With a heritage of leadership and excellence in swimming education and a commitment to teaching children to feel safer in the water.

Carlile is more than just a swim school, it’s a family.

Testimonials

“We are absolutely delighted with Carlile Castle Cove. The staff and teachers have been so diligent and friendly and the systems the centre use keep us up to date with our two daughters progress. Both kids have had additional help when needed and have both progressed in both skill and confidence at a steady rate. I have no hesitation recommending Carlile and have done several times already”

“We switched to Carlile after a couple of years of lessons at a different centre. The experienced staff observed my daughter's swimming and made simple corrections which yielded an immediate improvement. I was very impressed and frequently recommend them. The care and enthusiam they have shown to my children each week over the past 7 years has been excellent and my children are always enthusiastic for swimming as a result.”
