Carlile Swimming Ryde Aquatic Centre runs the higher levels of the Stroke Development classes, along with Teen and Competitive Squads. This fast-paced environment offers older swimmers the opportunity to experience competitive swimming in a fun and encouraging way.
Ryde Aquatic Centre has been home to some of Australia’s greatest swimmers, including the incomparable Shane Gould, the only person to win medals in five individual events at the one Olympic Games. The pool has produced more Australian championship gold medals than any other. Today it’s home to Carlile’s elite competitive squad, junior squads and stroke correction lessons.
Very good instructors and swimming pool.. only concern is the assessments ar3 not so updated and sometimes take a while for kids to go to next level upUpdate: Discussed with the girls and they happily moved my son to the next level
I have been taking my daughter since she was 3 months. Great swim centre and lovely team and instructors. We have stayed due to the instructor we currently have. The only downfall is there is no leniency when your child is either sick or you’re away on leave. You still get charged. Understandable a position is held for you similar to that of a childcare centre. But even a childcare centre has holiday discounts or you can swap your days if available. It’s not cheap so you either cancel your enrolment and lose your spot or pay even when you can’t make it for good reasons, like your child is sick. Definitely paid a bit over the last few years due to missed classes. That’s the biggest disappointment.
My son has been swimming with Carlile since he was 3 months old and absolutely loves it. The facility is always kept to the cleanest standards. The change facilities are great - lovely warm showers, family change rooms and a nice big change area for the babies! The water is kept at a super warm temperature for the kiddies and if the parents aren’t keen on sitting poolside there is a lovely air conditioned viewing room. All of the teachers are very nurturing and passionate about their job. Highly recommend anyone looking for a swim school for their children to try it out and experience it for yourself.
