Here you can discover the unique history of Carlile Swimming, and why we remain passionate about helping families become safer in and around the water by nurturing a love for swimming and all the rewarding experiences and benefits that it provides.
We are following the guidelines set down by the NSW Government.
We have also reduced some classes sizes, however for safety we continue to hold, support and correct children as they learn.
Are you social distancing out of the water?
We are following the Government guidelines in terms of social distancing and encouraging families to limit numbers in our facilities.
What steps are you taking to maintain hygiene?
Hygiene has always been important to us, however, we have increased our hygiene protocols for our re-opening. Every staff member has completed the Government’s COVID 19 Infection Control Training and staff regularly disinfect surfaces throughout the day. Our contract-cleaning professionals will also do a deeper clean at the end of each day. You will find hand sanitisers throughout each swim school and we are reducing contact at check in.
Are you still offering COVID-19 Make-ups if I or my child is ill?
Yes. We understand the need for increased flexibility at a time when we are asking parents and children not to attend swimming lessons if they are unwell. You can access our COVID-19 Make-Program at the link on top of the page
Are the change rooms open?
Yes, the change rooms are still open. Occasionally, there may be a delay in gaining access. To help avoid this, we are encouraging our customers to bring warm clothes and a beanie for your children and ‘wrap and go’ after each lesson, where possible.
What will happen if a staff member is found to have the virus?
If a staff member has tested positive they follow the NSW Health Department guidelines and do not return to work until given the all clear.
Is it safe to swim?
There has not been a single confirmed case of the virus being transmitted at a Carlile pool. Research in the UK has also found the virus can't survive in properly chlorinated water, find out more here. You can feel safe returning to Carlile Swimming, because we use the world’s best practice technology to treat the water and air in our facilities.
At Carlile, we use an ultra fine filtration (UFF) system that goes beyond what most other pools use. In addition, chlorine keeps the water clean and free from harmful bacteria. Importantly, our Ultra-violet (UV) disinfection system provides an added layer of protection against the spread of water-borne diseases. These UV systems are not required by the NSW Health Department, but we have always built our facilities with this technology to ensure our pools are clean and hygienic.
Does my current lesson booking still stand?

Learning to swim doesn’t just happen naturally. Carlile’s nurturing approach, refined over years of industry leading innovation, allows children to build the skills they need at one level to confidently springboard to the next. Your child will learn to swim well and love the water.
The teachers at Carlile Lane Cove have been nothing but AMAZING. My little girl had a hard time adjusting from swimming with me to going in by herself. Teacher Tash was unremarkable at helping my little girl to calm down, feel safe and swim on her own. I felt at ease knowing there was teaches able to help between the classes for one on one care. I could not fault any of the service we have received at Carlile. It is such a great place to make parents and kids feel welcome with a great swimming program.
We switched from another franchise a few months ago and really enjoy this location. The facilities are much bigger with several change rooms. It does get very crowded on the weekends so kids might not get as much attention from the instructors as they would on a weekday but we do appreciate the “monitor” staff who walk throughout the centre and help out where they can to discuss new approaches or your kids progress. Special call-out to Hamish and Lulu :)
Very good instructors and swimming pool.. only concern is the assessments ar3 not so updated and sometimes take a while for kids to go to next level upUpdate: Discussed with the girls and they happily moved my son to the next level
My son has been swimming with Carlile since he was 3 months old and absolutely loves it. The facility is always kept to the cleanest standards. The change facilities are great - lovely warm showers, family change rooms and a nice big change area for the babies! The water is kept at a super warm temperature for the kiddies and if the parents aren’t keen on sitting poolside there is a lovely air conditioned viewing room. All of the teachers are very nurturing and passionate about their job. Highly recommend anyone looking for a swim school for their children to try it out and experience it for yourself.
